Principal's Message Hello Berry Creek families,
We will be sending out a survey next week about summer programs. As soon as you get it please respond because we are in the planning stages and we need the information as soon as possible. We met with the state board of architects two weeks ago about the new school. We were reviewing our plans and the code upgrades. We are hoping this will bring the insurance company to the reality of what it cost to build a new school. One step at a time! I hope you all have a wonderful Easter vacation! ![]()
Mr. Peet's Corner The middle schoolers have continued to learn about many new cultures. This month the focus has been on the Aztecs, Maya and Incas with a side focus on modern East Asia. In fact each student is creating their own travel brochure for a given country in this region. We also researched and planned a trip to these lands including airfare, hotel costs, food and other travel costs. Mr. Tamori has been visiting every Tuesday to teach us new art techniques. In addition three students are learning guitar while one learns keyboard. My hope is that someday we can play together in our own Berry Creek band. We'll see! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Students participating in the spelling bee in Mr.Peets class!!! Brain teaser from Mr.Peet!!! ![]() ![]()
News From Ms. Perez * Thank you to Parents Club for making St. Patrick's Day memorable for the littles.
* We've been having a lot of fun working and posting activities in SeeSaw! The kids would really like to receive some responses from home on their posts. If you need help getting connected, then please let me know. Make sure you have the notifications for SeeSaw turned on, on your phone.
*Each month we are doing a Scholastic Book Giveaway! The kids are really enjoying choosing new books for themselves every month. New books are a great opportunity to spend quality time sharing the joy and excitement reading can bring to your family. Ask your kiddos to see their new books, if they haven't already shared them with you!
*We've had some disappointed kiddos when it comes to snacks in the classroom. I do my best to provide a variety of snacks for the classroom, but sometimes a student doesn't want what I am offering, gets upset because they can't choose something else, and chooses to not eat. Please talk to your kiddo and see if they would prefer to always bring a snack from home.
*Our volunteer counselor, Senta Burton, will start her Friendship/Social Skills groups starting the week of April 3rd! Thank you all for allowing her to work with your kiddos!! Ms.Perez 's class doing activities! Ryder's birthday ![]()
From Mrs. Mcintosh ![]() We are already 3 weeks into Trimester 3. It seems as though the days and weeks are flying by faster than I can teach. Our class has been so fortunate to be graced by Sensei Tamori who has been teaching the students painting techniques with watercolor. Now that it’s officially Spring, we can take advantage of the nice weather to hold P.E. a little more often. The days of the week we hold P.E. are Monday and Friday, and sometimes on Thursday. Remind your children to bring appropriate shoes, and clothing (if they choose to change clothes), and for some children, antiperspirant/deodorant. With the warmer weather comes more sweating, and sometimes unexpected scents.
Congratulations to Iliya Donkov who is the student of the month. Iliya always finishes his work, and remembers to go back to ensure that he hasn’t missed anything. When asked to do so, he willingly helps other students without giving them the answers. He reminds me, now and then, when I may have forgotten to do something that I mentioned the day before, which is helpful for keeping me and the entire class on track. Afterschool News Dear Families,
April 8th is a minimum day and the After School Program will be released at 2:30pm. As a friendly reminder please do not let your student bring toys from home to the After School program. If students bring toys from home it will be given back to the parent when they are picked up. If your student rides the van then the toy will be given to the bus driver to give to the parent.
In the After School Program students are given 45 minutes to an hour, to complete their homework. If the homework isn’t completed the student is responsibility to get it done at home. If your student is consistently not completing their homework in ASP, then a meeting can be set up with Miss Jenna to discuss your student’s homework habits.
Thank you for your time,
Miss Jenna ![]() ![]()
