Welcome to the last full week of school for the 2022-2023 school year. Our last day of school is June 2nd with early dismissal times at all school sites. Our students are wrapping up the school year with their school staff and friends, finishing up assessments and projects, and celebrating the relationships and friendships they have built this year. This year there has been a focus on relationships and building connections with others in addition to finding new ways to support each other.
This is the time of new beginnings as our students progress forward. Our 8th graders are moving on to high school and our 5th graders will be moving up to EV Cain Middle School. Our Principals will work on finalizing class lists to be ready before the first day of school which is August 16. To our students, we wish you a restful summer and we will be ready to greet you when you return for the 2023-2024 school year!
At all sites, students can expect to receive a rigorous and relevant education, with a focus on the whole child. AUSD remains committed to increasing student achievement, beginning with a focus on high-quality core instruction based on how students learn and what they need to be successful. Good first instruction includes universal core practices common to all great teaching and is vital to student success. High student engagement leads to student academic success. AUSD elementary families can expect to continue to receive standards-based report cards, informing them of how their student is progressing toward meeting the rigorous California State Standards.
Our before and after school programs include the Boys and Girls Club (Auburn Elementary, EV Cain) Auburn Recreation District (ARD) (Auburn Elementary, Skyridge), Champions (Skyridge), and Campus Monitors (Auburn Elementary and Skyridge). In addition, each site provides access to clubs, sports, intervention, and enrichment opportunities.
