Our “Paws for Books!” spring book fair begins Friday, May 9, 2025. All proceeds from the book fair go to purchase new books and library supplies for our Green Valley Library! The Book Fair is open 8:30AM-4:00PM (except Wednesday, May 14, 2025 we close at 2PM) and on Thursday, May 15, 2025 we will be open extended hours for our Open House. We hope to see you there!
Wednesday, May 14, 2025 from 11:45-12:30: TK & Kindergarten parents, grandparents, or nannies after you pick up your child(ren) from school, stop by our library/book fair and come for storytime with Mrs. Grim, our principal. This is a special time for you to come and shop the book fair while your children are listening to some wonderful stories from our great selection of books found at the book fair. We hope to see you there where you can shop for a bit while the kids are occupied!
While you are at the book fair, please consider giving a monetary donation to SHARE THE FAIR, a program that helps our sister school Lockwood Steam Academy in Oakland, CA get new books in the children’s homes. Bringing a new book home and being able to keep it is an amazing opportunity for many of those children. Please help us out! The Green Valley Community has been very generous in helping us reach this goal each book fair! Reaching our $1,000 goal for the SHARE THE FAIR. also helps our library too!
You can also support your classroom teachers and our support staff by purchasing books for their classroom libraries from their wish lists. Stop by the book fair to see their lists or just surprise them with a book from the fair that you think they will love for their classrooms! Purchasing books for our teachers and support staff also make great gifts for staff appreciation week!
On Thursday, May 15, 2025 our “Paws for Books” spring book fair will be open for extended hours (5:45PM-7:30PM) during our annual OPEN HOUSE. Please stop by and shop for some pawsome books! Summer is rapidly approaching and you’ll want to stock up on books for summer reading fun! We’ll be open from 5:45-7:30PM that evening for your shopping convenience! If you’d like to volunteer during the spring “Paws for Books” book fair, please sign up on the SignUpGenius website.
No experience is necessary to volunteer! It’s a fun way to meet new people, get a glimpse of what we have at the book fair before we open, and a great way to show your support for our school reading culture and the library! Please help me transform the
library into a book fair haven where kids will “Paws” for a great book or two or three… https://www.signupgenius.com/go/70A044FA8AF28AB9-56433615-green - /
Don’t forget that you can shop the online book fair that also supports our library through the spring online book fair from May 7, 2025-May 20, 2025 for an even more expanded selection of books. https://bookfairs.scholastic.com/bf/greenvalleyelementaryschool3 Our preferred method of payment for students is through the eWallet! This is a cashless form of payment—so no lost money on the playground, etc. Grandparents, etc. can also add on funds for kids to shop! |
