As we recently experienced a bit of extended winter, I am reminded that there are things we think, and there are things we know. We sometimes think the winter will never end, but we know that in the end, Spring will win. There are times when we think all of our hard work is not going anywhere, but we know that hard work does pay off in the end. As the sun stays out later each night, we can not only hope that warmer temperatures will follow, we know it. Just like we know that better results will come from our continued efforts.
Speaking of warmth and more daylight, I hope you have some fun activities lined up for the upcoming months. It’s time to get out the golf clubs, hiking shoes, bikes, water toys, camping and fishing gear!!
Speaking of hard work paying off, we have a lot to celebrate this month. Yes...AGAIN!! KUDOS!! |

Launched in 1991, the National Science Bowl® (NSB) is a highly competitive science education and academic event among teams of high school and middle school students who compete in a fast-paced verbal forum to solve technical problems and answer questions in all branches of science and math. Each team is composed of four students, one alternate student, and a coach. Membership in the National Honor Society (NHS) is one of the highest honors that can be awarded to a high school student. Our chapter has worked hard to bring the accomplishments of outstanding students to the attention of parents, teachers, peers, and the community. Our chapter strives to give practical meaning to the Society’s standards of scholarship, service, leadership, and character. These four ideals are considered as the basis for selection. No student is inducted simply because of a high academic average. The National Honor Society strives to recognize the total student—one who excels in all of these areas. The standards used for selection are:
Scholarship: 3.0 cumulative average Leadership, service, and character: as demonstrated by activities and teacher evaluations. Congratulations to our new inductees!! |
