October is finally over and we are starting to enjoy some fall weather. This time of year makes us reflect on how lucky we are to be part of such a wonderful community. We hope that you are able to spend some time with family during this Thanksgiving season.

Special Giving Thanks Meal 

SRVUSD staff, parents, and caregivers are being recruited to assist us with serving a special Giving Thanks meal to students. Have fun, celebrate, and give thanks to our students and Child Nutrition team by helping serve a special lunch! Different this year, the meal is being served on different days depending on the school type:

Elementary – Thursday, Nov 16

Middle – Wednesday, Nov 15

High – Friday, Nov 17

Our lunch menu will feature a special meal of locally sourced, sustainably raised turkey with gravy or plant-based patty with gravy, mashed potatoes, cranberry chutney, dinner roll, and fall cookie.

Feedback Needed For Instructional Calendar Survey 

We value your input! Please take a moment to share your thoughts and feedback with us about our calendar planning for the 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 school years. Your input is valuable and we are open to hearing all perspectives on how the current school year instructional calendar has been beneficial or not beneficial for you and your student(s), and we appreciate your insight into how the calendar impacts our community overall. The Instructional Calendar Feedback form will accept responses through Monday, November 13th. 

National Native American Heritage Month  

San Ramon Valley Unified School District recognizes the month of November as National Native American Heritage Month. We acknowledge that this country was home to generations of Indigenous Peoples long before the arrival of European explorers and that these tribes had a unique and vibrant culture. The California State Board of Education recognizes that each student needs an opportunity to understand the common humanity underlying all peoples and our California Frameworks state that the history curriculum must reflect the experiences of all people. During this month, a special focus is placed on improvement in education about Native American Heritage.
