The SRVUSD College and Career Fair is designed to educate students about the many post high school opportunities available to them. Representatives from four-year universities, two-year colleges, trade schools, and military will be available in a large, open gym format. Please see the list of representatives HERE.
We are also partnering with Strive Scan to help make your experience more organized and enjoyable. Just register with Strive Scan HERE ahead of time to receive a bar code, which you will use during the fair. When a college rep scans your barcode, the software automatically tracks what schools you have interacted with, creating a list for you and adding you to the rep’s list of people to receive information from their school.
THINGS TO KNOW
Because of the popularity of this event, we are asking families to please adhere to the following guidelines based on last year’s feedback:
LIMIT ATTENDEES: In the past, this event has attracted very large crowds. Because of fire codes, and general safety, we are asking that only one Adult per family attend the event with the student. This will help ensure a meaningful and worthwhile event for all! Please note that an event of this size is not a child-friendly environment. Safety is the priority with large crowds.
CARPOOL: Parking is VERY limited at Cal High. Please consider carpooling!
SET YOUR EXPECTATIONS: This is an information gathering event. This is not an event to ask very specific questions about your particular academic situation. Expect short and to the point student-driven interactions with the Reps.
HAVE A STRATEGY: Again, this is an informational event. Visit the schools that have shorter lines or that you have never heard of. There are SO many great schools out there! Make it a goal to gather information from a variety of schools. Plan ahead: decide which schools you want to visit, note them on the map that will be provided, and plan what question you want to ask before the fair. Don’t wait more than 10 minutes in a line. Remember, all schools have very robust and detailed websites. You can always do more research on your own if you don’t get an opportunity to talk with a Rep.
The SRVUSD College Fair is coordinated annually through the combined efforts of the four San Ramon Valley Unified School District high schools with support from their Academic Boosters organizations.
