Message from Principal Pawlicki

Happy Friday JR. Redhawk Families,

I hope you all had a wonderful week and are enjoying the feel of fall in the air. Here are a few reminders of upcoming events:

Fall Festival: Join us on October 20th for an evening of fun from 5-7pm. There will be games, food, and exciting activities for the whole family. Don't miss out on this autumn celebration!

Candy Donations: We're accepting donations of candy for the Fall Festival. Please consider contributing to make this event a sweet success. Drop off your candy donations at the school office.

Cake Decorating Contest: Calling all bakers and decorators! If you'd like to participate in our cake decorating contest, please turn in your cakes by October 19th. The cake walk at the Fall Festival will feature these delicious creations, so get your baking skills ready.

Cybersecurity: October is recognized as National Cybersecurity Awareness Month, making it an opportune time to emphasize the importance of internet safety and good digital citizenship. In this digital age, it is crucial that our students understand the significance of online safety, responsible use of technology, and reporting any concerning online behavior. Here are some key points I would like to emphasize:

  • Kindness and Respect: We encourage all parents to have open discussions with their children about the value of kindness and respect, both in-person and online. It's essential that we reinforce the importance of treating others with empathy and courtesy, even in the virtual world.
  • Reporting Concerns: If your child ever hears or sees something online or at school that raises concerns or feels unsafe, please remind them to report it to their teachers or school staff. Timely reporting is critical for maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • School Threats: It's vital to impress upon our students that jokes or threats related to the safety of our school are unacceptable. We must educate them on the serious consequences such actions can have and the importance of being responsible in their words and actions.
  • Internet Safety: Take this opportunity to discuss internet safety practices with your children. Encourage them to be cautious with their personal information online, to use strong and unique passwords, and to be mindful of the content they share and engage with.

I am always excited to partner with you to make our school the safe and inclusive environment we all want to see. Save the date and get ready for a fantastic Fall Festival. We look forward to seeing you there! 🎃🍰🍭

Warm regards,

Holly Pawlicki

Principal at Campo Elementary School

Information About Student Pick-Up:

Good Afternoon Campo Jr. Redhawk Families,

I wanted to clarify after school pick-up procedures as we have had some students walking independently across the upper lot and also into the lower parking lot which creates a hazard:

-When in the car line, please make sure students are picked up at the front of the school and are not walking around the lot or across the lot to get to vehicles. Staff are there to guide the process but some students are navigating around staff to get to cars.

-If you prefer to park and walk up to pick up your student, please pick them up at the front of the school. They are not to walk independently into the dirt lot without an adult.

Your student's safety is important to us, and we try to get them into cars as quickly as possible. Thank you for your continued patience with this process.

Holly Pawlicki

Principal

*If you need to make changes on how your student is getting home, please contact the office at 619-478-5583 by 12pm.

Abound Newsletter for week of Oct 16

The new theme is about emotions.

This newsletter reminds families of how important it is to build a child's self-regulation and awareness of other people's feelings.

Given how constant and exhausting it can be to work on a child's behaviors, it's helpful to know it's worth the effort on many levels!
