VERY IMPORTANT for Early Childhood and Kindergarten families:
All students entering an Early Childhood Program and/or Kindergarten are required, by the State of Illinois, to present proof of a complete physical exam and immunization record dated on or before August 16, 2022.
If you have not presented the documents, your child will be excluded from school for noncompliance on October 15th, 2023. As of today, we have 22 Kindergarten students and 16 EC students who are missing. Please drop off the paperwork in the main office. If you have questions contact Nurse White at:. 630-636-3290 ewhite@sd308.org Some other quick notes:
Thank you for your continued support and collaboration. We can accomplish so much more as a team. Kelley Budd Principal |

Building Our Theme for 2023-2024 |
|
|
| Coyotes are Curious!!!
We are learning to build INQUIRY into our lessons. You can build inquiry at home too! Instead of, "How was your day?" ask, "What new thing did you learn today?" or "Did you learn anything surprising today?" Ask your child "WHY?" when they make an observation. You could explore answers together! |

If you don't have your yellow sign, you will be asked to leave the line, go to the office to show ID, and pick up your child from there. Our car line can get quite long. If your child can walk, ride a bike, or carpool, it would help tremendously.
Cars enter the parking lot "chute" on the north side of the building. Please do NOT enter the bus circle in the front. The front circle is for students in our STARS program and buses only 8:30-9:00 and 3:35-4:15.
Have your school-issued yellow sign posted in the passenger side window. You will receive these in the first days of school. Keep the sign in the windshield until you leave the parking lot. Pull all the way forward in the line so we can get as many students loaded/unloaded as possible.
Say goodbyes, gather backpacks, and masks on as you enter the chute, so when it's time to get out of the car, students can be swift. The use of cell phones in school zones is prohibited by law. Our neighbors are very patient. Please be sure to keep driveways and mailboxes spaces open as you are in the car line.
There is no parking, standing, or stopping at any time on Lakewood Creek Drive in front of the school. Please do NOT stop there to drop off or pick up students. Village signs are posted and parking on the street is not safe for our students crossing.
Our crossing guards are wonderful. Please be aware of them, watch for their signs, and be respectful. Their ONLY job is to keep your children safe.
Early Childhood ONLY: Students are dismissed out Door #1 at 10:30 (am session) or 2:15 (pm session). If you are picking up in a car, pull into the front circle, behind the buses. We will get your child from the building to the car. We cannot buckle your child. After your child is loaded in the car, please quickly buckle and/or pull into a far parking space or across the street to buckle. |

Birthday Treats, Holiday Parties, and Visitors |
For many reasons, none of the elementary schools in the district allow birthday or holiday treats consisting of food products. Birthdays and Classroom Holiday Parties will still be acknowledged in the classroom, but not with food. However, you are welcome to send in non-food items such as pencils, stickers etc., or donate a book to the school library or your child’s classroom in honor of your child’s birthday. Goody bags are not allowed. All items must be sent in individually. We also welcome volunteers!. Please communicate with your child's classroom teacher for more information. |
