Character Trait of the Month – Gratitude
The benefits of practicing gratitude can be life-altering.
Gratitude puts situations into perspective. When we can see the good as well as the bad, it becomes more difficult to complain and stay stuck.
Gratitude helps us realize what we have. This can lessen our need for wanting more all the time.
Gratitude strengthens relationships, improves health, reduces stress, and, in general, makes us happier.
“We must find time to stop and thank the people who make a difference in our lives….As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.”
- John F. Kennedy
Food Drive: Only a few days left to donate to the Contra County Food Bank. Bring your nonperishable food items to one of the barrels in the MPR or Kinder playground. See Food Bank Flyer.
Now through Thursday, November 17th
As an added incentive, IF all 6 barrels are filled to the brim and even overflowing, some of the Leadership students will be able to dump a bucket of water over Mrs. Single's and Mrs. Kravitz’ heads during the December schoolwide pledge. It's all for a good cause!
Lost and Found: Please be sure to check the lost and found before Friday for any lost items as any remaining lost & found coats, lunchboxes, and water bottles will be picked up and donated to a local charity.
Cyber Safety Parent Night Please join us at Bollinger Canyon in the MPR on Wednesday, 12/7 at 6:30 pm. Darryl Holcombe and the Contra Costa County Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, will host a 30 minute Presentation, followed by a 30 minute Q & A session for parents. Topics will include: Internet Safety, Trending Issues with Elementary Students, Identity Protection, and Cyber-Bullying. We have invited Twin Creeks to join us for this parent only event. Our 4th and 5th Grade students will have a digital citizenship and cyber safety in-class assembly with the taskforce presenters after this parent night. Please RSVP HERE.
