Dear Greenbrook Elementary School Community,
It is an honor to introduce myself as the new principal of Greenbrook Elementary School and to join this extraordinary school community. I hope this note finds you all well and enjoying the last few weeks of summer, and that you and your children are looking forward to a wonderful school year together. Like you, I am committed to caring for your children each and every day and will work to ensure they continue to have a rich learning environment.
Since graduating from Chico State University, I have served as an educator in San Ramon Valley Unified school district as a teacher and TSA Admin. Most recently, I served as vice principal at Walnut Grove Elementary in Pleasanton Unified School District. Although I have always felt at home in the classroom, it is my role as an elementary administrator where I have been most fulfilled. Being an elementary principal provides me the opportunity to work collaboratively with both teachers and parents on a daily basis, while also remaining connected to young students developing their skills. I firmly believe that every child can learn and grow and that the partnership between home and school builds confidence in students to use their powers to shape their future and the future of our community.
In addition to my role as a life-long learner and educator, I am a mum and wife. My daughter, Cameron, is 16 months old, which keeps my husband, Dustin, and I busy chasing after her. I look forward to introducing my family to the many wonderful people that call Greenbrook “home” in the near future.
To our students, I cannot wait to meet all of you! I hope that you are excited for this coming school year and that you are out this summer playing and reading tons of books with your family and friends. It is going to be a fun year learning together. I look forward to seeing all of you in August!
In closing, please know I genuinely welcome your feedback and input in order to do what is best for our students. I look forward to learning what makes this community so special and working collaboratively with you this school year.
Sincerely,
Ailsa Rehkopf
