Rotary Teacher of the Year- Colette Winton 4/5 Teacher
Colette Winton is an exceptional educator who volunteered to take on our 4/5 combo class and has continued to smile all year while teaching the two grades. The first time I met Colette, she impressed me with her enthusiasm and genuine desire to determine the best way to meet each child’s unique learning needs. Colette is a teacher who connects with her students; she knows each student's interests, strengths, and challenges. She is full of energy, passion, and creativity. When you walk into Colette’s classroom, you instantly notice how she puts her students at the center of her classroom. There is a tangible excitement among her students. She continually reflects on her lessons and is always looking for new ways to evoke curiosity and enthusiasm from her students; her lessons are engaging and full of student choice. Colette consistently displays the desire to successfully inspire her students to learn, which makes her classroom energizing, inspiring, warm, and welcoming.
