| Dear North Country Families,
I hope you enjoy the beautiful weather for this 3-day weekend! School resumes on Tuesday, February 21st. This week, we will be conducting a school-wide emergency drill on Friday, February 24th, in conjunction with all sites in the district. At an undisclosed time on Friday we will be running through a drill that may include a full or partial lock-down and possible evacuation. During the drill, we will be testing the capabilities of our Catapult messaging and student/staff accounting systems. If you happen to come to school to pick up your student while the drill is being conducted we ask that you please be patient as we may be in the middle of our drill or other emergency procedures. If you have any questions or concerns, please email me prior to Friday at tseivert@centerusd.org or call the front office at (916) 338-6480.

Ms. Haslam has been teaching various SEL class lessons this month. The topics were: K-3: Feelings Experts - Students discussed the “comfortable” feelings of happy, proud and excited. Students identified facial expressions and body language for each feeling and then colored a heart to display the level of each feeling within themselves.
4-5th: Identity - Students explored and discussed what things make up their identity as a person and then completed a booklet activity. 6th: Social Media Safety - Students identified safe and unsafe online behavior by looking at practice IG posts and then created their own safe IG post by drawing. Parent/Family Support: Ms. Haslam will be sharing additional resources from Big Life Journal with parenting support on a variety of topics. To learn more about why your words matter, access this week’s resources HERE. |
