Board Member Corner

On Monday, Board Vice President Laura Bratt attended the Open Mic Celebration honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., co-hosted by the San Ramon Diversity Coalition. Representing SRVUSD, Laura spoke about the importance of the district's framework for sustainable and systemic change, so that all students can reach their full potential. Laura shared that “it was wonderful to see our community come together to celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr's legacy, to honor NAMI Contra Costa County Executive Director Gigi Crowder and San Ramon Police Chief Denton Carlson, and to hear empowering messages of advocacy from students, community members, and elected officials.” Board Trustee Susanna Ordway, Student Board Member Anya Ayyappan, and Director of Educational Equity, Dr. Hong Nguyen were also in attendance!

Out and About with Dr. Malloy

This week Dr. Malloy visited Del Campus to bring a special treat to Peg Deely, who was selected by one of her colleagues as a staff member who goes “Above and Beyond”! Students and staff members joined us in appreciating Ms. Deely: “While always staying humble Peg has formed connections and bonds with both our High School and our Adult Transition students.  She is loved by all of the students and the staff kind of like her too :)   She brings a smile to everyone she talks to and is an inspiration to us all.”

Also this week, Dr. Malloy and Board Trustee Susanna Ordway visited Gale Ranch Middle School, engaging in conversations with students and staff. They heard about the many ways Gale Ranch staff prioritize student voice and choice and they experienced the warmth and caring of the Gryphon team. Dr. Malloy shares about the visit in this short video.
