Important Dates to Remember

Fiscal Recovery Implementation Plan (FRIP) Committee Update

Please see the attached meeting minutes, and presentation notes from the December 7th FRIP meeting.  After much discussion the committee voted on a recommendation to Board Trustees.  The committee vote was 7 votes to consolidate Auburn Elementary to Rock Creek and 6 votes to consolidate Rock Creek to Auburn Elementary.  Much discussion was had about exploring options for a TK-8 school or schools in the 2023-2024 school year.  The committee expressed this was the work that AUSD staff and trustees should do.  The next  regular Board of Education meeting is on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at 7 PM in the EV Cain Middle School Dragila Gym located at 150 Palm Avenue, Auburn, CA.  An informal report out of the FRIP Committee meeting will be discussed at this meeting.

Child Nutrition Services Department

I am so excited to announce we hired one of our own.  Nicole Degraff will serve as the new  Manager of Child Nutrition Services for Auburn Union School District!  She will be introducing new members of her team each update. This week we will start at Rock Creek with Nina Vaughan and Gladis Hernandez! This dynamic duo work hard every day to serve the students at Rock Creek! Nina has been around for over 16 years! She has served at some point in time in every kitchen in the district and is currently a Lead Child Nutritionist!  She is always willing to help when we are short staffed. 

Gladis started off about 2 or 3 years ago as sub and is now a Child Nutrition Assistant. She is a rock star in the kitchen.  She always has a smile and is willing to help in any way. She has been a great addition to the team.
